Searching For God

I was desperately searching for God. "With all the different religions in this world, which one was God's church?" That was the question that constantly tormented me. Throughout my life I had attended many different churches and denominations. They all believed they had the truth.
My heart was yearning for God, so I decided to go back to one particular church again. During the church service the pastor gave an altar call and asked for those who wanted to receive Jesus to come down to the front. That really bothered me. Was God just sitting down there on the steps waiting for me to come down? I just didn't feel He was there. In tears I left that church and went home broken hearted.
I began watching every religious program on television only to become even more confused. Which religion would lead me to Him?
The following day I decided to fast and pray. My prayer went something like this. "God I don't know where You are, but You know where I am. You have to come to me and show me the right religion; the one that will help me find You."
A couple of days later while I was at work, sitting at my desk doing my usual paper work, a still vision suddenly appeared in front of my eyes and kept getting brighter and brighter until that vision was all I could see. It was so vivid and clear.
In the vision, it was a bright and incredibly beautiful sunny day, crystal clear deep blue sky. The clouds looked like white fluffy cotton balls. This vision was so vivid that I was able to count the leaves on the trees, the individual blades of grass and even the grains of sand on the ground.
In this vision I saw my Mother-in-law Maria and Father-in-law Peter, standing between two trees and the picnic table in front of their home. Peter was standing on Maria's left hand side. He was wearing his dark navy blue suit and carrying an executive brief case in his left hand. I can't recall what the dress looked like that Maria was wearing. But they both had very serious looks on their faces. Both had their heads bent forward looking towards the ground. This vision was so clear that I was sitting at my desk counting the wrinkles, the age spots, and the little strands of curly hair that were standing up near Maria's forehead.
This vision would appear and remain for a few minutes and then disappear. Without any control from me it would appear and then disappear throughout the day. It would remain each time long enough for me to just sit there and stare at it.
In the background, I saw a little church. It was a Seventh-day Adventist church.
When I got home from work that day I went through every picture album I had trying to find a picture like the one I just saw, but I couldn't find anything like it. The only explanation I could come up with was that God had just reached into my memory and pulled out a picture that I had seen when my husband and I used to go visit his parents on Saturdays, or that God simply gave me a picture of His church.
This vision was so strong and overwhelmingly powerful—far beyond anything I've described here, that then and there I knew had God answered my prayer. Through that vision I heard God saying, "This is my church and these are two of my followers." My search was over. God showed me how to find Him.
God says in (Mathew 7: 7, 8) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
This happened to me over twenty-one years ago and I still feel that this is the closest to God's true church.
